MSC Opera (MSC Cruises) - Exterior view

The MSC Opera cruise ship of MSC Cruises is anchored off the island of Visby in Sweden. Passengers are brought back on board by tender boat after a shore excursion. (August 2008)

The design of the MSC Opera from MSC Cruises is classically elegant. The completely white hull does without colorful painting and eye-catching construction elements; only the somewhat clunky-looking stern takes some getting used to.

The discreet exterior impression continues inside: warm colors, high-quality-looking gold and silver elements, marble and wood floors, and pleasant lighting with halogen lamps instead of cold-looking energy-saving lamps. All design elements and colors are well coordinated and do not overwhelm the guest's eye at any point.

August 2008: Cruise on the Baltic Sea with the route: Kiel (Germany) - Copenhagen (Denmark) - Visby (Sweden) - Stockholm (Sweden) - Helsinki (Finland) - St. Petersburg (Russia) - Day at sea - Kiel (Germany)
