Images of cruise ships of the shipping company AIDA Cruises

AIDA Cruises is a cruise operator based in the northern German city of Rostock in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. As a branch of the Italian shipping company Costa Crociere, based in Genoa, AIDA Cruises is one of several brands of the British-American Carnival Corporation & plc group. The ships with the characteristic kissing mouth at the bow, sailing under the Italian flag, mainly serve the German-speaking cruise market of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Regardless of the cruising region, the on-board language is German and the on-board currency is the EURO (€). The concept of AIDA Cruises is based on a relaxed and casual atmosphere without strict dress code and fixed table times. In most of the restaurants and in many other facilities on board there is a high degree of self-service by the passengers. This allows the ships to be operated with considerably less staff than similarly sized ships of other companies.
Those who like this concept, but are looking for a bit more internationality, should also take a look at the Freestyle Cruising on board the ships of Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL).
